Sounds like a hoax and a false news right? But no, its true! Every techie’s dream to hold a proper android-based Nokia smartphone is going to get fulfilled really soon. The next generation of Nokia hardware will run Android.
With Microsoft’s epic fail in mishandling Nokia’s mobile business, a new chapter for the Finnish brand is about to begin. Nokia announced that it will license its brand and intellectual property to a newly created company called HMD global, which will work to produce and sell a portfolio of Android smartphones and tablets.
To complete its portfolio of Nokia branding rights, HMD announced that it has conditionally agreed to acquire from Microsoft the rights to use the Nokia brand on feature phones, and certain related design rights.
The Microsoft transaction is expected to close in the coming months of 2016. Together these agreements would make HMD the sole global licensee for all types of Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets. Don’t believe us, then read Nokia’s official press release here.
Rumors suggest that its the new Nokia C1 (image below) which will be launched first. But the only question we are left with is when it will be coming?
