Yes, Snickers chocolate can be called a Nougat. Even the Mars Bar for that matter is of the same component. Watery-mouthed already? Then, get ready to increase your geeky appetite because Google has officially started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to Nexus and Android One devices.
This is the first time a new Android release is available even before the launch of a new Nexus phone. Google says the over-the-air update to Android Nougat will go out to the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and the Android One devices as part of a staged roll-out over the coming weeks. Sadly, the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7(2013) will not be getting the update officially this time.
The biggest feature in Android 7.0 is the split-screen multitasking which users of the Samsung high-end devices were already enjoying up till now, but this will be enjoyed by every android device user once he possesses the sweet Nougat.
While on September 6, LG will unveil the first new phone with Nougat out of the box, the V20, Android Authority has brought a tentative list of all devices which are going to receive the 7.0 OTA update along with timelines. Click here to read about it. Note that this list is not yet official.
